SEAMLESS Project - Software components and services

For more details on the SEAMLESS project, visit the official site.

Web application for user companies

Mapping against LOCL ontologies

Among other results, the pilot execution produced the following bi-directional mapping between COMM and LOCL:

Web application for mediators

Click here to download the maquette of the SEAMLESS web application for mediators.
The way to use the application is documented by the following videos:

Ontology Editor

Visit here for information and details on the SEAMLESS Ontology Editor.

Ontology Mapper

Visit here for information and details on the SEAMLESS Ontology Mappper.

Semantic Translator

Visit here for information and details on the SEAMLESS Semantic Translator.

Security Toolset

Click here to download the SEAMLESS Security Toolset. Here you can find the relevant deliverable D3.2.2.

Pubblication Environment

Click here to download the presentation of the SEAMLESS pubblication environment. The demos mentioned in the presentation are documented by the following videos: Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, Video 4.

The Eclipse project demonstrating how the Semantic Translator functions can be published via DBE environment can be downloaded here.

Distributed storage system (SRRN)

The SRRN is the software component on charge of providing the service applications with the basic storage services. A Video illustrates:

  • a short visualization of the different layers;
  • a demonstration of the Distribution layer UI;
  • a demonstration of the P2P network status and the addition new peers;
  • a demonstration of the Logging and Messaging functionality;
  • a demonstration of an example SRRN call for 2 different methods (probably search and megaping);

Navigator (Intelligent search engine)

The Navigator (formerly named Intelligent serach engine) is the Web application providing users with the capability of editing and querying SEAMLESS information. A Video illustrates:

  • the general UI features;
  • downloading and selecting COMM ontologies;
  • the generation of a dynamic form based on a selected ontology (alpha stage);
  • how using the generated form to add data to Seamless;

Negotiation support functions

The presentation of the SEAMLESS Negotiation functions can be downloaded here (ppt format). The videos related to the presentation use cases can be seen here: UC2 - Product configuration, UC3 - RFQ editing - user, UC4 - RFQ dispatch and notification, UC5 - Offer definition (advanced support) - user, UC6 - Product configuration (advanced support) - user

The first release (still in beta version) of the software components realising the Negotiation support functions are available at the following sites (self-extracting archives):

Integration with existing systems

This section provides the results of the importation and exportation of business documents. The deliverable D4.4.1 together with the tested XML files can be downloaded here.

User application and services

The public version of the last release of the SEAMLESS user application and Web services is available at http://nic.ing.unimo.it/generic_en_comm_gui .
Anyone can browse the application, select a specific localised platform and self-register a new company profile.

For developers interested on going through the details of the SEAMLESS platoform, the SEAMLESS consortium provides the following material:

  • The SEAMLESS Web application binaries can be found here.
  • The SEAMLESS Web services binaries can be found here.
  • Both the Web application and the Web services relies on a RDBMS in order to store application-specific data. An example database backup can be found here (PostgreSQL 8.2).
  • The external SEAMLESS API are documented by meaans of the relevant JAVA interface sources properly commented. Three main inetrfaces have been designed: (1) ISMPCoreService defines the core SEAMLESS functionalities; (2) ISMPNavigatorService defines the operation for interacting with the SEAMLESS ontologies and vocabulary; (3) ISMPIntegrationService exposes methods for integrating SEAMLESS with external software components.
  • Additional documentation about ISMPNavigatorService and ISMPIntegrationService can be downloaded here.
  • An effective example of SEAMLESS ontology provdes a detailed view on ontological model defined by the SEAMLESS project.
